You’ll be a key player in ensuring smooth operations, working closely with customers, haulers, vendors, and ready-mix plants to optimize deliveries, manage inventory, and enhance efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Dispatch & Coordination:
- Process customer, driver, and hauler inquiries using dispatch software
- Plan and schedule truck deliveries for maximum efficiency and profitability
- Manage hauler relationships, negotiate rates, and ensure smooth order processing
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust truck demand to meet delivery rates
- Track equipment moves and ensure maintenance scheduling
- Make quick decisions under pressure while keeping operations smooth
- Utilize maps and logistical planning to optimize routes and schedules
- Adjust callouts strategically for next-day operations
- Work in a highly collaborative team environment with constant communication
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and haulers
- Provide top-tier customer service with a professional and solutions-driven approach
- 2 years of dispatch experience (ready-mix, logistics, or construction preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of Chicagoland & NWI/WI area
- Strong computer skills (dispatch and sales software experience a plus)
- Ability to think fast, problem-solve, and stay calm in high-pressure situations
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Reliable and able to work one Saturday per month
