Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) to join our team.

SUMMARY
As a CADC, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality substance use treatment services. Under the supervision of the Administrative Director, you will conduct intakes and assessments, lead clinical groups, provide education, and assist therapists with crisis intervention. Additionally, you will monitor client needs, document progress, and collaborate with treatment teams to enhance the quality of care. All other duties as assigned.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Clinical and Administrative Directors to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor client needs, behaviors, and progress.
  • Lead recovery groups utilizing approved curriculum and therapeutic activities.
  • Conduct client pre-screenings during the admission process.
  • Provide new client orientations and assist with campus activities.
  • Document client incidents and maintain detailed, accurate records.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide immediate support.
  • Communicate significant events and updates to the Treatment Team.
  • Facilitate community resource access for clients.
  • Comply with all ethical guidelines, licensure requirements, and state regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

CADC-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments and intake evaluations as needed.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Deliver education to clients and their families about addiction and recovery.
  • Assist in crisis situations by offering immediate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Stay informed about best practices in substance use treatment and recovery.

BACKGROUND/EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
  • Certification as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) is required.
  • Experience in the substance use treatment field is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and privacy regulations.
  • Basic understanding of chemical dependency, the 12-step process, and client advocacy.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with clients, staff, and community partners.
  • Competence in handling stressful and fast-paced environments independently.
  • Serve as a role model to clients and maintain accountability.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and conflict resolution.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The role may involve sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Travel between program sites and attendance at meetings outside normal work hours may be required. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
