Payment Processing Specialist

Essential/Primary Job Functions:

Candidate is responsible for entering and processing loan payments that are received daily through the various payment channels. This includes retrieving payments that are received through the US Postal Service.

Specific duties for the Accounts Receivable role include:

- Pick mail up from local post office.

- Open mail using mail machine.

- Sort through daily correspondence and forward to the appropriate department

- Process and post incoming payments that are received through various payment channels. This includes physical checks, as well as electronic payments.

- Deposit the checks that are received in house using a remote capture check scanning system.

- Manage the declined payments and process accordingly in the system.

- Respond to email inquiries, as necessary.

- Participate in and contribute to developing and improving the cash application and reconciliation process.

- All other compliance-related assignments as may be required by financial institution to comply with agency, internal and/or regulatory protocols.

Requirements

· High School diploma.

· Preferred 2 years experience with an emphasis in loan and payment processing preferred, but not required; additional training provided.

· General knowledge of Excel and Word documents.

· Demonstrates an aptitude for learning and a clear ability to provide prompt high-level and responsive service.

· Displays a positive attitude, good communications skills, strong planning, execution and work ethic required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32,000.00 - $42,500.00 per year
