Job Summary
Assists in the preparation of accurate, competitive electrical construction bids by utilizing the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
Directly contributes to the success of the company by working with the Operations Manager, Estimating and Management Team to win awards and to build and sustain relationships with clients.
Works closely with the Operations Manager / Estimating Department to maintain estimating data, establish and maintain standardized estimating practices, and foster a solid team approach within the department.
Position Qualifications
Meets one of the following education requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in a construction or electrical engineering related discipline, OR
At least three years of electrical construction / service field trade experience / training / education, OR
Equivalent combination of the above.
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience : At least 2 years of electrical construction estimating while employed with an electrical construction contractor is required. General contractors or roles coordinating with electrical subcontractors do not meet this requirement.
Must be well defined in Accubid Estimating software.
Preferred : Applicant who lives in the Omaha, Nebraska Metropolitan Area.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Able to comprehend applicable construction documents.
Work well in team atmosphere.
Computer Skills : Must have accurate typing skills and be proficient in using database, email, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows) and be willing to learn new software applications.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have access to drive a well maintained vehicle. Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles. Both the candidate and the vehicle must be currently covered on a personal insurance policy.
