Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE) in on-premises and cloud environments.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring low latency and maximum uptime for mission-critical applications.
- Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, SELinux, user access controls, and patch management, to safeguard systems against vulnerabilities.
- Design and manage robust backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability in disaster recovery scenarios.
- Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, Perl) to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
- Utilize tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for automated configuration and deployment processes.
- Set up and maintain monitoring solutions (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Grafana) to track system health and respond to alerts.
- Manage and optimize Linux workloads in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), leveraging services such as EC2, S3, and Kubernetes.
- Work closely with development, DevOps, and network teams to support application deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure scalability.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of Linux distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
- Proficient in shell scripting and automation tools (Bash, Python, Ansible).
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab).
- Knowledge of storage systems and SAN/NAS administration.
Certifications (preferred):
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS)
- CompTIA Linux
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or similar cloud certifications
