Summary
This Individual is responsible for the installation, retrofit and repair of residential HVAC, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting and structural layouts.
Job functions and duties – (other duties may be assigned)
- Responsible for servicing all HVAC products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Uses a variety of hand tools, following wiring schematics or installation manuals, to diagnose and repair units.
- Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customers’ locations.
- Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
- Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work as necessary.
- Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
- Represents company by serving as a direct customer contact.
- Provides re-training and follow-up training at customer site.
- Provides sales leads to Estimator.
- Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need.
- Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration.
- Records parts, material, labor, subs, and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.
- Reads and interprets product specifications using his or her experience in working with building specifications, drawings, and designs.
- Studies industry literature, manuals, and training materials to continue developing a better understanding of the HVAC industry.
- Attends referred training programs designed to further working knowledge of the industry.
- Provides technical support to customers.
- Delivers parts to job sites, as necessary.
- This position may directly supervise the HVAC Field Technician Apprentices
- 2-5 years' experience
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Education and Experience
- 06A or 06B License in Washington State
- EPA Certified
