What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fisheries Biologist Aide position at PA Fish & Boat Commission?
The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission’s (PFBC) Lake Habitat Section has a seasonal Fisheries Biologist Aide (FBA) opportunity that might be right for you. As an FBA, you will get an inside look at the conservation efforts being conducted by the PFBC during fish habitat projects on the streams and lakes of Pennsylvania. You will have a chance to go on the road with Habitat Management staff to complete fish habitat improvement projects across the Commonwealth and get hands-on experience with implementing conservation projects.
Pay: $16.67/hour
Term: March 3 - October 24, 2025
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with additional required overtime hours
Travel: frequent day trips and some overnights are required
Reimbursement: overtime hours and expenditures on food and hotel stays
Location: Centre Region Office, 595 East Rolling Ridge Drive, Bellefonte, Pennsylvania
Preference is given to applicants who have experience with boating/trailering, power tools, chainsaws, fishing, and being a positive team member. Previous FBAs have used their experience at PFBC to acquire full-time positions and enter into graduate school in the fisheries biology field.
