PARENT COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Parent Coordinator
ORGNIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Project Area Team Leader
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- IMPORTANT* This position is only temporary (April 1, 2025- June 30, 2025)
- Work with the local Team Leader in the planning of annual elections for board members.
- Work with PAC board members to encourage their participation in local/regional board leadership training.
- Attend local/regional leadership trainings for PAC board members.
- Organize monthly board meetings.
- Maintain regular and ongoing contact with the members of the parent board.
- Serve as liaison between the PAC board and local project area staff.
- Maintain ongoing contact with project area Team Leader to keep him/her informed of board activities.
- Work with the board members to ensure their participation in local project area activities.
- Visit new migrant families to provide informational Welcome Packets.
- Prepare, schedule and implement parent meetings and workshops in coordination with local project area staff.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies in order to facilitate access to local services for migrant families and prepare a list that includes addresses, phone numbers, and contact names.
- Communicate any school-related issues that parents discuss to the appropriate student support specialist.
- Work to involve migrant families in program activities
- Accompany local members to State PAC meetings.
- Organize and complete the necessary paperwork, which includes monthly reports, schedules, etc.
- Organize and implement Diploma Project Parental Initiatives.
- Take the lead in the distribution, collecting and reporting related to parent surveys.
- Any other activities that support the mission of the Migrant Education Program.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities to support program’s mission and recommendations by Team Leader and Project Manager.
TIME AND SITE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attendance at work is requirement of the position; and all absences must be approved by immediate supervisor. Attendance at occasional evening or overnight workshop is required.
Some evening and weekend sessions for home visits and parent involvement activities may also be required. Request for extended absences from work during the months of June, July and August will not be approved.
Other Requirements:
Employee must have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and have own transportation. Must be able to lift and carry medium loads; must be able to navigate uneven ground, stairs, porches, and steps; must have the stamina to travel and provide services with in the same work day. PA State Police Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114) and background history check (Act 168) are a pre-employment condition. Employee must be computer knowledgeable/ literate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
