What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Administrator position at PA Pain Physicians?
We are seeking an office administrator to join our team at our Lock Haven and if interested, our Bloomsburg location. Willingness to travel a plus, Athenahealth knowledge a plus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, answering phone calls, collecting co-pays, scheduling patients, organizing electronic medical records and managing administrative tasks in a busy medical office environment. This role requires a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented individual who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. We utilize Electronic Medical Record software Athena Health.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff members in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages and ensuring timely communication.
- Manage the front desk, including checking patients in and out, collecting a co-pay and handling administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records.
- Insurance authorization
- Verification of Insurance benefits
- Coordinating office visits and surgeries
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
- Utilize computerized systems to complete data entry tasks, including patient information and billing.
- Perform general administrative duties, such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Provide support to other departments as needed, including medical and administrative staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Skills:
- Experience in a medical office setting or willingness to learn advanced administrative duties.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with computerized systems and data entry software.
- Experience with phone systems and customer support.
- Strong administrative skills, including clerical and organizational experience.
