Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Patient Access Rep to join our ED team! Employment Type: Full Time Shift: 40hrs/wk Monday-Friday, Evenings 3p-11:30p. Weekend and holiday rotations required. Per Department needs. Job Description Summary: The patient access representative performs all outpatient, emergency room and inpatient registration functions, including up- front cash collections and insurance verification. Ensures that patients meet financial requirements, provides general information to hospital users, patients and families. Communicates effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service and provides excellent patient focused customer service. Verifies insurance benefits and checks for the necessity of pre-certification, authorization and referral. Performs medical necessity checks where needed. Secures patient signatures for required hospital forms and collection of patient’s financial responsibility when required. Is responsible for providing professional, quality customer service, timely resolution to customer problems, and coordination of services to all customers. Functions to communicate revenue cycle related issues to patients, physicians, physician office staff and other hospital colleagues. Rotates into various areas of Patient Access and may work a variety of shifts.
