Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: The Infection Preventionist is responsible for monitoring infection rates throughout the organization. This position will maintain/upgrade-tracking methods for surveillance in order to produce meaningful data and outcomes for patients and hospital staff. The Infection Preventionist is responsible for hospital wide education related to his or her duties and work under the guidance of the Infection Control Committee. This position will be available as a resource on infection control topics to colleagues, patients and the community. The Infection Preventionist will be responsible for surveillance and data collection as it relates to Pennsylvania State Law Act 52 requirements. Will participate in the education of staff and the active participation of improvement work groups; and will work to ensure a safe environment for patients, colleagues and visitors. Conducts activities in accordance with current accreditation standards, Federal, State and Local regulations and establishes professional guidelines and standards.
