Your Role
As a Traffic Operations Coordinator, you will be the eyes and ears of our highway. Working in the Traffic Operations Center, you'll monitor and evaluate real-time traffic conditions, coordinating communications to ensure our roads remain safe and secure at all times. You'll also adhere to strict guidelines set by the Federal Communications Commission and our organization, offering support under the guidance of a shift supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging with customers, staff, and external agencies to manage traffic incidents.
- Dispatching services like police, fire, and medical teams to targeted locations.
- Documenting incidents via the Traffic Management Tracking System.
- Monitoring traffic flow and conditions through advanced tools and systems.
- Playing a vital role in emergency responses based on weather reports and alarms.
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this dynamic role, you'll need a high school diploma or equivalent, alongside a year's experience in emergency dispatch communications. You'll also be required to earn specific certifications, including Emergency Telecommunication Course and CLEAN/NCIC, while demonstrating typing proficiency.
