Job Description
We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) leader to join our Building Sciences laboratories team. As a QA leader, you will be responsible for implementing and managing quality policies and procedures to ensure excellence in our laboratory operations.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of quality systems, operational areas, and the development and implementation of quality programs, policies, and procedures.
This role involves:
- Implementing and managing the quality system for the Building Sciences - East laboratories.
- Collaborating with laboratory management to implement and manage quality processes, results, audits, and improvement programs.
- Contributing to the achievement of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
- Providing observations and recommendations to leadership for enhancing the organization's quality policies, procedures, and practices.
- Managing expectations of leaders, managers, staff, and operations, and facilitating communication on customer needs and business requirements.
- Trains staff and management on quality policies, systems, and procedures.
- Compiles, analyzes, and monitors performance metrics and internal quality control and provides reports to Corporate Quality.
- Performs internal audits, coordinates participation in external accreditation programs and proficiency test programs and reporting of results.
- Oversees the Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and the document management system.
- Effectively resolves escalated, technical, or sensitive quality issues by collaborating with internal teams or external agencies as necessary, ensuring successful resolutions.
- Maintains currency of quality regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, applicable laws, and related legislation.
- Manages Quality Department staff including hiring, training, providing compensation recommendations, and performance management.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field; AND three (3) years of experience in quality; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A comprehensive understanding of quality systems, operational areas, and the development and implementation of quality programs, policies, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to various stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Experience with one or more of the following in an asbestos, microbiological, and/or indoor air quality (IAQ) laboratory: ISO17025, AIHA LAP, NVLAP, and/or TNI.
