Job Overview
The Inside Equipment Sales Representative plays a critical role in supporting the sales operations of the company by assisting in the management of the equipment sales process, supporting territory managers, and handling the sales and leasing of equipment. This position will focus on relieving Territory Managers from floor duties and enabling them to concentrate on strategic sales efforts. Additionally, the Inside Sales Representative will manage key operations, including fleet management, inventory tracking, inbound sales inquiries, and customer interactions.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee the transportation of equipment units coming offline from the factory to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Manage and monitor the Lease/Rental fleet, including maintaining an accurate and up-to-date inventory of available units.
- Regularly check in and check out units in the yard to maintain proper inventory control.
- Perform monthly trailer inventory reconciliations to ensure consistency with system records and physical inventory.
- Handle inbound sales inquiries, providing customers with accurate information regarding available equipment, lease options, and rental terms.
- Assist walk-in customers, ensuring their needs are met and providing information on equipment availability and sales options.
- Proactively call on or pass along internet leads to the appropriate sales representatives or managers.
- Provide administrative and operational support to Territory Managers and Sales Representatives, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Assist Territory Reps with sales activities as needed, including equipment presentations, follow-ups, and processing orders.
- Serve as a backup for Territory Representatives in the event of an opening or staffing need, ensuring continued sales and customer service support.
- Participate in ongoing sales, equipment, and product training to stay informed about the latest offerings, industry trends, and best practices.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance product knowledge and sales skills to better serve customers and contribute to sales targets.
- Support the sales team by coordinating logistics, equipment availability, and sales documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized records related to leases, rentals, and sales activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in sales, equipment sales, or customer service is preferred. Experience in managing inventory and handling customer inquiries is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with equipment inventory systems or sales software is an advantage.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: A strong collaborator who works well with the sales team, territory reps, and other departments.
Physical Requirements (Office Environment)
- Must be able to lift/carry 5 lbs frequently.
- Must be able to lift/carry 25 lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs infrequently.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
