You can work as a PACE Intern Special Education Teacher while completing the Intern program! The Intern Teacher program offers an alternative route if you already hold a bachelor’s degree and want to teach as soon as possible. We offer Lead Teachers to help support you!
As an Intern teacher, you are employed as the teacher of record in a classroom while you complete your program.
- Immediate teaching opportunity plus a variety of financial resources, including grants for the credentialing program (Federal TEACH, Golden State Teacher).
- Cohort of fellow Intern teachers to support you!
The PACE K-12 school is a high support program that is assisted by direct experienced paraprofessional aides covering most students. PACE also has multiple resource specialists (SLPs, OTs, BCBAs) supporting the Teachers and students. Once a candidate receives an official designation from the California Department of Education (CDE) for certification as a Preliminary Education Specialist – Intern, he / she will be eligible to enroll in a teacher credentialing path within their program of study.
