Responsibilities
In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers healthcare philosophy the Cardiac Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking/labeling of images provide and confirm proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease. Responsibilities may include:

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician.

Operates all ultrasound equipment computers and accessories.

Demonstrates competency in film-processing procedures.

Identifies and initiates accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions.
- Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required
Qualifications

Three (3) years experience performing Ultrasound procedures in an outpatient facility if not RDMS.

RDCS or RCS or RYT or RDMS or ARDMS
- Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
- Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures.
- Must also know departmental protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members physicians and the patient population.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Self- motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.
Pay Range
$56.83 - $82.40 /hour
Salary : $57 - $82
