Responsibilities
In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers healthcare philosophy the Cardiac Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking / labeling of images provide and confirm proper / adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease. Responsibilities may include :
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician.
- Operates all ultrasound equipment computers and accessories.
- Demonstrates competency in film-processing procedures.
- Identifies and initiates accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions.
- Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required
