Receiving/Warehouse Associate: Pacific Fabrics, a leading provider of quality fabrics in Seattle, is seeking a full time RWA.
Direct Report: Company Buyer
Interfaces With: Store Manager and General Manager
Job Description for RWA:
Works directly with the company buyer to receive and price all incoming orders, maintain records of each function in the inventory system. The RWA is responsible for maintaining an organized stock room (warehouse), monitoring supply needs for their store, maintaining the upholstery rolls, assisting on the sales floor as needed by the store manager and working with the GM with store-re-sets and merchandising set-ups.
Functions of the position include (but not limited to):
Able to work day shifts from Tuesday through Saturday, with Saturdays dedicated to working on the sales floor.
Ability to use a computer to accurately assist in maintaining store inventory and research problems with orders or inventory.
Checking freight, making sure that all products arriving match the orders placed.
Handling returns of miss-shipped or damaged merchandise.
Comparing key information and counting, weighing, or measuring items of incoming shipments to verify information against invoices, orders, or other records.
Preparing merchandise received for sale, including labeling, packaging, and pricing.
Communicating with the buyer any issues, challenges, and errors in goods ordered and received.
Assisting store manager in the measuring and cutting custom upholstery foam.
Being responsible for the splitting and rolling upholstery fabrics.
Assembling, disassembling, and storing store fixtures.
Store cleaning and light maintenance tasks as requested.
Provide assistance with additional tasks as required.
Necessary Skills:
Proficient in computer applications and experience with POS/Point of Sale: (transaction handling, technical proficiencies, system navigation, gathering data, etc.). Able and willing to learn quickly.
Knowledgeable in sewing techniques with the ability to measure and cut fabric accurately at a cutting table.
Able to work day shifts from Tuesday through Saturday.
Have the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment which includes the ability to stand and walk for the entire shift, use hands to handle merchandise, lift up to 25 pounds, have close vision and color vision abilities.
Ability to move, climb, and do work on a ladder. knowing and using safe lifting techniques and maintaining a safe work environment.
Work as a team player with Pacific Fabrics employees – including assisting to help on the sales floor during the week when needed.
Have reliable transportation or ability to commute to the Seattle, WA location. We offer assistance with public transit!).
