- Assist with compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including required postings
- Maintain employee personnel records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with wage and hour laws
- Address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including time-off balances, garnishments, deductions, etc.
- Promptly and accurately processes all employment verifications, and unemployment claims
- Provide our accounting team with month end information
- Administer employee benefit programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Assist with open enrollment communication
- COBRA administration
- Administer employee leaves ensuring paperwork is completed accurately and timely
- Process benefit payments for HR related payables
- Develop job descriptions & post openings
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and accurately filed
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering positive employee relations
- Support the implementation of HR policies and practices
- Manage the workers’ compensation process, including handling claims, coordinating with insurance providers, and ensuring compliance with state laws
- Assist with accident investigations and follow up on safety improvements to prevent future incidents
- Ensure timely filing of claims and assist employees in navigating the claims process
- Maintain OSHA Logs and required postings
- Assist in performance review cycles
- Provide guidance on disciplinary actions and terminations, ensuring proper documentation and process adherence
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the payroll / Human Resources field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be a self-starter.
- Understanding of state and federal employment regulations & employment related laws & regulations.
- Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and operating systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years payroll & human resources experience required.
- Compensation: $24 - $28 per hour DOE
- FLSA Status: non-exempt, Hourly
- Full time position – 5 days per week
- Hours: Day shift
- Benefits package available, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. In addition, a 401(k) plan with company match. Also, holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
