What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Control Packaging Specialist position at Pacific Manufacturing Tennessee?
Assist in the management of Production Control Packaging processes to ensure an efficient manufacturing environment for PMT. This includes, but is not limited to: Pre-Production, support of existing projects, inventory, Kanban maintenance, and monitoring suppliers and vendors.
· Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking.

· Ability to work independently on projects to achieve completion targets.
· Assist in the management of the Production Control Database. Ensure that all packaging information in the database is accurate and up-to-date at all times.
· Check Toyotasupplier.com for any information that affects PMT’s packaging and distribute that information to production.
· Manage container inventory to meet customer forecast.
· Communicate with customers to ensure PMT is meeting customer packaging demands.
· Assist in the overall management of monthly inventory, including data entry.
· Create new forms and documents to improve quality, efficiency, and communication.
· Create / modify work instructions to match with current standardized work.
· Create various spreadsheets upon request from management.
· Provide instructions to production staff, as needed.
· Create / modify the Packaging information to match current production need.
· Provide daily support to Logistics Department.
· Conduct weekly Customer container inventories. Confirm upload to inventory system is complete.
· Complete PPF creation/ updates in Toyota system as directed by Toyota.
· Work with customer in creating packaging to meet customer’s needs/ expectations.
· Monitor shipments, correct customer containers are being used.
· Provide alternative packaging to support production while still meeting customer expectations/ packaging requirements.
· Train, direct, and coordinate activities for packaging.
· Any and all other tasks within the scope of the position as requested by management.
· Production Control, Manufacturing, and packaging experience.
· Knowledge of Japanese manufacturing principles including but not limited to 5S and Kanban system (preferred).
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and training / development skills.
· Demonstrate and cooperate in a Team building environment
· Excellent attendance
· Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions.
· Quality and detail oriented.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace environment.
· Ability to delegate and willingness to adhere to management instructions.
· Willingness to stay until tasks are complete.
· Valid driver license.
· Follow and promote proper lifting techniques.
· Ability to walk/ stand for long periods of time
· Willingness to cooperate and work in a strong team environment.
· Knowledge of Toyota Production Systems (preferred).
· Ability to lift 35lbs.
· Ability to distinguish between colors and hear surrounding noises.
· Ability to walk, stoop, carry materials, kneel, bend at waist, twist at waist, climb ladders and stand on concrete and operate in a repetitive motion for up to 12 hours.
· Must be able to wear a face mask directed in the guidelines by the CDC, State and County guidelines and Company Policy.
· Primarily inside conditions.
· Must wear hearing protection as some areas have a high level of noise.
· Must wear all PPE on the production floor- Safety glasses, steel toes, Kevlar sleeves, Kevlar gloves and bump cap where required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.50 - $27.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
