Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated Property Tax Accountant to that wants to work in a growing global company! The role of the Property Tax Accountant at Pacific Rim Capital is to provide excellent service to all key stakeholders, automate routine processes to streamline tasks and minimize risk of human error, and meet all the property tax related deadlines for annual returns, bills and audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Filing of annual business personal property tax returns for all leased equipment locations in the united states (39 states)
- Review all ‘assessed value notices’ received from all billing jurisdictions for reasonableness prior to receiving actual bills from tax collectors
- Communicate with tax officials and lessors when necessary to clarify and address tax related issues
- Payment of property tax bills received
- Lessee property tax invoicing
- Handle all lessee invoicing disputes and/or questions
- Respond to and answer all assessor-collector email/phone questions
- Handle all property tax audits providing them with information and materials requested
- Assist account managers and collections with property tax invoice questions from the client
- Provide property tax estimates upon request
- Attend all necessary training required to keep current in the property tax field to remain compliant
- Attend all necessary software training conferences required to keep current with the most recent upgrade and modifications
- To continue to seek best practices and ways to automate manual processes wherever possible
- Continually document systems and process changes that relate to the position of property tax accountant
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills
- Good business acumen in written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated and works well independently but collaborates with others when needed
- Great organizational and follow-up skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines through prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment
- A track record of building and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally with customers and vendors
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience required
- 5 plus years’ experience in Tax Accounting required
- Strong Microsoft Office Word and Excel proficiency
- Experience in Tax Software, PTMS/TCI software experience is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $72,000-$83,000, hourly $35-$40
- Performance Bonus: Eligible for a quarterly bonus of up to 10%, bringing the total compensation range to $79,200-$91,320
