Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Staffing:Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for various positions (e.g., non-exempt and exempt roles), including job posting, sourcing, screening applications, conducting interviews, performing reference checks, and extending offers. Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs
- Employee Relations:Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues within assigned locations. Provide guidance to employees and managers on company policies and procedures. Conduct thorough investigations into employee concerns or complaints as needed, recommending appropriate actions. Advise management on performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions
- Benefits Administration:Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, etc. Manage enrollment processes, respond to employee inquiries, and assist with resolving benefits-related issues. Support annual open enrollment activities
- Training & Development:Assist in identifying training needs and support the development and delivery of training programs, potentially including on-site sessions during travel. Conduct new hire orientation and manage the onboarding process
- Compliance & Record Keeping:Ensure compliance with federal, state (California and Nevada), and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation in accordance with legal requirements and company policy. Assist with required reporting (e.g., EEO-1)
- HRIS & Reporting:Maintain employee data integrity within the HRIS system. Generate standard and ad-hoc reports related to HR metrics (e.g., turnover, time-to-fill)
- Policy & Programs:Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives
- Performance Management:Support the performance review process, providing guidance to managers and employees
- Special Projects:Participate in or lead HR-related projects as assigned by the HR Director
- Travel:Regularly travel to company locations in Concord, Stockton, Fresno and Renoto provide on-site HR support, conduct training, attend meetings, or address employee relations matters. Frequency will vary based on business needs
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
- Experience:Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources Generalist capacity. Experience supporting multiple locations is a plus
- Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of core HR principles and practices across multiple disciplines (recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compliance, etc.)
- Working knowledge of federal, state (specifically California and Nevada), and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO)
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and discretion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
