Job Summary
Pacifica Hospital of the Valley seeks a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
About the Role
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical operations, maintaining a sterile environment and handling equipment with precision.
- Determine the necessary equipment and supplies for each surgery, adhering to nursing protocols and hospital policies.
- Clean, maintain, and check equipment to ensure proper functioning prior to use.
- Transport, position, prep, and drape patients for surgery while maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient dignity.
- Clean, sort, and sterilize instruments, preparing instrument packs for efficient use.
Requirements
- Completion of a Surgical Technician program with eligibility to sit for Board Certification Exam.
- Board Certification within nine (9) months of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Surgical Technician in an acute care or surgery center environment.
- Experience in multiple specialties, including Orthopedics, GYN, General Surgery, Plastics, and GI Lab.
- Ability to exercise professional judgment in performing daily activities, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
