Pacifica Hotels is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team at our Home Office in Aliso Viejo, CA! The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles for a portfolio of hotels.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Accounting Manager to ensure a clean and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly financials for multiple hotels.
  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Responds to inquiries from the Director of Finance, Controller, Accounting Manager, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
  • Assist in preparing financial analysis and variance reports to support management decisions.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and GAAP standards.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation for tax filings, financial audits, and corporate reporting.
  • Collaborate with hotel accounting teams to ensure proper recording of revenue and expense.
  • Prepare reports detailing monthly expenses and extra ordinary expenses.
  • Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting of A/P and A/R.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company policy
  • Support Accounting Manager with special projects.

 

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Independent Judgment Used: Frequently within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating within Pacifica Hotel Company policies and procedures.

Working Conditions/Environment: Office Environment

Qualifications:  BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.  Two to Four years prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -paced setting. Experience with NetSuite is a plus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ten key by touch required. Strong multi-entity accounting. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.

Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift of boxes of files weighing up to 20 lbs. Occasional filing. Occasional trips to properties for meetings.

Pay Range: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
