Position Summary
Ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of IT systems. Designs, builds, maintains and supports the complex SAP S/4HANA system landscapes as part of the Propel program, while maintaining integrity of the existing ECC system landscapes. In addition, this position covers the whole Change and Problem Management (Software Upgrades and patches, and Software and Database Tuning) as the Propel program progresses through various phases and releases. Perform O&M activities post multiple S/4HANA system go-live.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000.00
&/OR
California Minimum: $133,000.00
California Maximum: $226,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain S/4HANA systems in the cloud.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system builds and upgrades.
- Integrate multiple satellite systems with the S/4HANA systems.
- Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required.
- Conduct System refresh to lower environments (Sandbox, Development, QA, and Training) per request
- Mentor and collaborate with teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Oversee the performance of in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Conduct research on products and solutions to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Create new and validate proposed system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts.
- Define requirements for and review documentation for quality.
- Define system health and availability metrics and present to leadership.
- Design and deploy new complex / Enterprise systems and enhancements to existing systems ensuring compatibility and inter-operability.
- Design and perform system security audits, backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with PG&E’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Provide orientation for other SAP Basis Administrator in the team.
- Work with leadership, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
- May supervise 1-3 employees
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- 8 years of experience in engineering, software, or related
Desired:
- Completed a Green Field/Blue Field/Brown Field SAP S/4HANA implementation in the cloud and provided on-going production support.
- Hands on experience on managing parallel S/4HANA and ECC environments
- Experience in administering multiple SAP systems running on the AIX and RedHat & Suse Linux environments
- HANA Database Certification
- S/4HANA System Administration Certification
- Masters Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in systems implementation, job-related
