Steam Electric Generating Plant Mechanic:
We are seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all steam electric generating plant mechanical systems and associated auxiliary systems and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Repair, troubleshoot, overhaul, and maintain equipment such as turbines, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, condensers, scrubber, coal pulverizing system, coal and ash handling equipment and all other associated systems and equipment to maintain efficient plant production of electrical energy.
- Perform millwright functions in setting up, aligning, balancing, and testing various machinery and equipment, such as turbines, pumps, shafts, bearings, gearboxes, and valves.
- Work with precision tools and instruments within close tolerances to maintain precision alignment and balance which is critical for maximum life and performance of machinery and equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on all assigned machinery and equipment, and check equipment for wear and possible down time to prevent major problems and emergency shut downs.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in plant maintenance and repair.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and carrying tasks.
