What are the responsibilities and job description for the Self-Storage Facility Clerk position at Pack Rat Mini Storage?
Pack Rat Self Storage is looking for a self-motivated and reliable weekend employee to work at our Murfreesboro and Smyrna locations. The ideal candidate must possess strong customer service skills and must have availability to work an occasional weekday (with notice) as needed.
In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and talk or hear customers in person and over the phone. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Day to day operations of the Front Desk including but not limited to opening and closing the office on time each day, keeping a balancing change drawer, preparing a daily bank deposit, and preparing daily reports as required by Property Manager and or Owner.
- Responsible for answering phone and dispatching calls; professionally handling telephone and walk-in inquiries.
- Provides outstanding customer service by assessing and resolving customer problems, interacting with walk-in tenants, accepting payments, renting storage units and process "move outs".
- Maintains all required tenant documentation in a neat and orderly manner, as directed by management.
- Responsible for general organization of the front office including but not limited to cleaning and restocking moving supplies.
- Responsible for cleaning vacated units and prepare them for new tenants.
This position is part-time working weekends (Saturdays 8am to 5pm and Sundays 12pm to 4pm), likely to alternate between our Smyrna and Murfreesboro locations in Rutherford County. The ideal candidate for this position must have weekday availability to work on an occasional weekday shift (9am to 5pm) with prior notice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional phone etiquette required.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Basic computer skills and general knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel required.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 13 per week
