Job Summary:
The Inventory Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of Packable's inventory operations. This position is responsible for managing inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and ensuring that inventory records align with physical stock. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can identify and resolve discrepancies quickly. In addition to maintaining accurate records, the Inventory Specialist will work closely with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to optimize inventory processes and ensure seamless operations. This role directly contributes to Packable’s mission of delivering exceptional service to clients by ensuring products are always available when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Track inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for operations while minimizing overstock.
- Auditing and Reconciliation:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with the operations team to improve inventory workflows and processes.
- Recommend strategies to optimize storage space, minimize shrinkage, and enhance inventory accuracy.
- Reporting:
- Generate and analyze inventory reports, highlighting trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Provide insights to support procurement and operational decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Support the implementation of new systems or processes related to inventory management.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move equipment, products and other items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all inventory activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inventory environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in WMS, ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot discrepancies and ensure accuracy in inventory counts.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to identify and resolve inventory-related issues effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across teams.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with e-commerce or fulfillment operations.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning and inventory tracking technologies.
- Knowledge of industry best practices for inventory management.
