Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and dependable Assistant Assembler Lead to support our assembly team in the production of foam and corrugated materials. This position requires proficiency in heat welding, gluing, saw cutting, and stapling, as well as the ability to assist the lead assembler and guide team members when needed. The Assistant Assembler Lead will also be responsible for overseeing production in the absence of the lead assembler, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Assembler in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assembly process, including heat welding, gluing, saw cutting, and stapling foam and corrugated materials.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and resolving concerns as they arise.
- Ensure production goals are met by efficiently managing the assembly process and maintaining a steady workflow.
- Take charge of the assembly floor in the absence of the Lead Assembler, ensuring proper work standards are maintained and production schedules are adhered to.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and instructions to ensure the correct assembly of products.
- Monitor quality control to ensure all products meet company standards before shipment.
- Coordinate with other departments (such as inventory and quality control) to ensure timely and accurate production.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Provide feedback to the Lead Assembler and management regarding production challenges, team performance, and improvements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, or production, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or team support role.
- Strong knowledge of heat welding, gluing, saw cutting, and stapling techniques.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly explain tasks and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address team members' concerns.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for production when the Lead Assembler is unavailable.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality in every aspect of work.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and tools.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying noise levels and safety equipment.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/production setting with exposure to various assembly tools and machinery.
- Safety gear, including gloves, ear protection, and eye protection, is required.
