Summary
The IT Support Specialist is primarily responsible for responding to phone calls, emails, and end-user requests for technical support along with installations, maintenance and repair of computer equipment (e.g., including laptops, desktops, communication devices, tablets, scan guns, printers, local area networks, and other related software systems) to support the business. The IT Support Specialist will respond to issues via phone and email and aid solve IT issues in a timely manner and will provide network administration support and will aid in various IT projects. These responsibilities will support the development and accomplishment of Packer’s Strategy and Vision while promoting our Swagger.
Primary Duties
- Field incoming service requests from end users via telephone and email
- Troubleshoot equipment used to support the business including but not limited to:
- Phones
- Internet
- Computers
- Printers
- Label printers
- Scan guns
- Low severity network/internet issues
- Software
- Microsoft 365 products
- Install, configure, and move workstations for new and existing users
- Assist in New Branch opening process and setup
- Assist with various IT areas with special projects as assigned
- Assist in report writing and extracting data as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 1-3 years work experience in office/industrial setting preferred
- Basic computer hardware and software troubleshooting skills
- Desire to be proactive and reach quick and complete resolution
- Proficient in common computer software including MS 365 Windows and MS Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and adapt to changes in procedure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of mobile technology and devices
- Attention to detail: excellent organization skills, strong analytical and problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Knowledgeable with SQL queries and/or other report building techniques
- Knowledgeable with VMware, MS Windows Server
- Data reporting skills preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must be able to obtain coverage through company's auto insurance carrier according to company Driver Safety Policy.
