Outside Sales Representative

Summary/Objective
The Sales Representative position is responsible for developing sales leads via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers. Sales Representatives are responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience as well as providing hands-on explanations of any new or updated products when necessary.

1. Identify and develop sales leads through various sources (publications, trade shows, web sites, referrals, etc.). Respond to sales inquiries to secure new business and increase business in established accounts to meet strategic sales targets.
2. Act as primary customer contact. Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers. Complete & submit new customer forms.
3. Collaborate with customers by listening to their issues, determining their needs, recommending products, developing solutions, and finally providing quotes.
4. Partner closely with internal resources including CAD, Project Management, Production, Accounting and QA to ensure that the overall order process is successful to ensure that Packrite exceeds customer expectations.
5. Initiate orders by submitting complete and timely Request for Quote (RFQ) forms to ensure that CAD and Project Management has all needed information prior to generating layouts and quotes.
6. Achieve maximum sales growth and account conversion within the assigned territories or customer base.
7. Responsible to know all product offerings, uses, benefits and pricing structures on a machine level basis. In addition, understand what makes Packrite special in the marketplace.
8. Schedule in person or virtual meetings with existing customers to review product needs and discuss additional opportunities.
9. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with company and department policies, procedures, and standards.
10. Maintains client and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
11. Submit expense reports monthly with required documentation.
12. Other duties to be performed as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but should serve as a mentor and resource to other departments.

Work Environment

This job operates 50%-60% outside of the office environment in the field visiting potential and existing customers. There is little office environment; however, the noise level in the office environment is usually quiet to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fork-lift vehicles if occasionally out on the production floor.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment or travel via vehicle. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk approximately 10% of the time, stand 10% of the time and sit 80% of the time. The employee will occasionally lift and or carry up to 40 lbs. Employee may use computer, phone, copier and other office equipment in the course of a day. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, grasp, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Other Duties

Employees will be required to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week or as many hours as it may take to perform above job duties. Schedule may vary based on business demands and will require a combination of office hours as well as work performed after hours and/or weekends. Qualifications

Travel

50%-60% of travel is required.

Education and Experience

1. Five or more years of experience in high graphic corrugated packaging, folding carton and/or printing industry is preferred.
2. A college degree or certificate in a related field is highly desired.
3.  Strong knowledge of all print methods, including but not limited to offset, flexo, digital and gravure.
4. Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies.
5. Strong presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
6. Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
