PacWest Machinery is recruiting for an outside Sales Representative to promote Yanmar, Volvo, and Atlas Copco compact equipment lines. This position will be responsible for business development primarily in the Portland metro territory and will report into the Company’s Portland, Oregon branch.
PacWest provides a full line-up of compact equipment, general production equipment (GPE), aggregate processing, road and allied equipment from well-known companies including Yanmar, Volvo Construction, Atlas Copco, Metso Minerals, and leading machine attachment suppliers. The company delivers comprehensive sales, rental, leasing, parts and service support in Oregon, Washington and Northern Idaho. The successful applicant will be responsible for representing the Company within a defined territory and delivering profitable sales and rental results, including:
Essential Duties:
- Sells and rents new and used compact equipment including mini excavators, tracked loaders, wheeled loaders, portable power, attachments and allied equipment.
- Quotes and negotiates prices, delivers contracts and closes orders. Develops relationships and customer loyalty to increase long-term market share.
- Works with customers and potential customers to provide solutions to their equipment needs.
- Provides on-site expertise for demonstrations, machine inspections and technical support. Uses a Company-provided truck and trailer to facilitate customer demonstrations.
- Attends training and sales meetings as required to stay current with new equipment and special promotions. Controls sales expenses and keeps accurate and up-to-date information in the Company’s sales prospecting system.
Compensation and Benefits:
Includes base salary, commissions, 401(k) match, and medical and dental insurance. Employees receive paid time off including vacation, sick days and holidays.
Qualifications - the ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience in compact equipment sales or rental, but experience in a related equipment sector will be considered
- College degree preferred, although equipment sales experience may be substituted or combined with education.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Ability to meet customers’ demands for timeliness and flexibility.
- A high level of energy and self-motivation.
- Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, machine specification and ordering software and other internet-based programs.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong references from former employers and colleagues.
