Heavy Equipment/Mobile Mechanic Position Summary:
The Mechanic will perform both on-site and mobile inspections and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment such as semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment and machinery including brakes, suspensions, electrical, lighting and mechanical at our Saginaw, Alma and Port Huron locations. A company service truck will be supplied for all mobile support.
Repair hydraulics, electrical and other mechanical components
Troubleshoot and mechanical diagnosis to identify repair needs
Prepare and complete required paperwork including work order information using company supplied laptop
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Qualifications:
5 years plus of related diesel mechanic or related military training
Knowledge of welding and torching helpful, but not necessary
Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
Related experience and knowledge of the methods, materials tools and techniques used in repairing semi tractors & trailers
Clean driving record required for use of company vehicle for road calls
Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office products
Strong communication skills, effective communicator
Proven ability to work alone or in a team setting
Attention to accuracy and detail
Demonstrated safety consciousness
Relevant Military experience #IND123
