Maintenance Coordinator - Paper and Plastics

Position Overview Title:  Maintenance Coordinator, Paper and Plastics Reports to:  Plant Manager, Paper and Plastics Direct reports: Maintenance Technicians, Plastic Extruder Technician. Pay Type: (Hourly/Salary) Salary Cost Center:  Wyoming, Paper and Plastics Work Base Classification: (Onsite/Remote) Onsite   Overview  The Maintenance Coordinator shall be responsible for Equipment, facilities, and grounds at PPR, as well as managing the maintenance staff, budget and spare parts.   Accountabilities Ability to meet physical demands and perform the essential job functions within the work environment identified in this job description. Always maintain all plant assets in an operational ready state. Execute preventative and predictive maintenance plan. Maintain proper spare parts levels to budget. Maintain plant supply levels to budget. Manage Maintenance Team Members Perform daily inspections and routine checks on production equipment and facility. Communicate on an operator level, to help with trouble shooting and improvements. Troubleshoot, diagnose and recommend repairs needed or scope of work required for repairs on production equipment to help with production scheduling and downtime reduction. Schedule and/or perform all mechanical repairs on production equipment that is within PPR internal capabilities. Safely operate all toolroom equipment (mill, lathe, grinders) as needed for repairs and improvements. Safely perform minor electrical repairs on production equipment. Communicate with internal electricians and outside electrical contractors on any electrical issues or projects, to facilitate completion. Read blueprints, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work process. Interact with engineering and management to recommend machinery upgrades or process changes to better maintain equipment or improve serviceability. Demonstrate safe general rigging practices when using auxiliary lifting equipment on Hilo. Must be capable of working from elevated heights such as roof, platforms, man lifts or ladders both inside and outdoors. Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools that fits with in PPR capabilities. Work with outside mechanical, electrical or fabrication contractors as needed when scope of work is outside of PPR capabilities. Participate in the Safety Committee Process.   Outcomes  Weekly: Inspections, R&M reporting to Budget, PM’s, IXL management, Technician management, Reduced Asset Mechanical and Electrical Downtime, Spare Parts Accuracy. Monthly: Inspections, R&M reporting to Budget, PM’s, IXL management, Technician management, Equipment Uptime, Reduced Asset Mechanical and Electrical Downtime, Spare Parts Accuracy. Quarterly:  Inspections, R&M reporting to Budget, PM’s, IXL management, Technician management, Equipment Uptime, Reduced Asset Mechanical and Electrical Downtime, Spare Parts Accuracy. Ensure all documentation meets OES, QMS requirements. Annually: Inspections, R&M reporting to Budget, PM’s, IXL management, Technician management, Equipment Uptime, Reduced Asset Mechanical and Electrical Downtime, Spare Parts Accuracy. Ensure all documentation meets OES, QMS requirements.   Qualifications  3 years’ experience in machine repair and leadership competency. Valid Driver’s License Mathematical and mechanical aptitude Ability to read drawings, blueprints, exploded views and schematics.
