As we continue to grow, we seek a dedicated Human Resource Generalist to help formalize and strengthen our HR and organizational development functions.
Position Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will play a key role in developing and managing HR processes, policies, and initiatives that support the organization’s mission. This position will oversee HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and training and development. Additionally, this role will help implement structured human resource development, organizational development, and leadership programs to support the organization’s growth and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Management
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to a small nonprofit environment.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new employees.
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manage payroll processes in collaboration with finance to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and employee development plans.
- Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, in alignment with organizational policies.
Organizational & Leadership Development
- Design and implement structured training programs to enhance staff knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities.
- Establish coaching and mentorship programs to support employee growth and career advancement.
- Support leadership in creating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning within the organization.
- Assist in developing succession planning and internal career pathways to retain and promote talent.
Workplace Culture & Employee Engagement
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that aligns with PADS’ mission and values.
- Develop employee engagement initiatives that promote teamwork, morale, and staff recognition.
- Implement meaningful staff recognition programs to highlight contributions and achievements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or small business setting.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll administration is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to a growing and evolving organization.

Compensation: $65,000, Available Medical and Dental Benefits.
