Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Performs supervisory, administrative, and managerial responsibilities, implementation and consistency of the Pafford Air One Daily Directives, daily operations, and high-level clinical care.
● Coordinates the delivery of exceptional emergency medical service treatment and care through training and quality assurance.
● Maintains direct oversight and responsibility for the educational functions of the program including but not limited to, maintaining safety policies/procedures, high scope clinical care, and being “mission ready” - with the focus on clinical compliance, quality assurance & improvement, logistics and supply ordering.
● Maintains the ultimate responsibility for the supply orders necessary for operations in conjunction with the logistics coordinator.
● Performs audits, as assigned by the Director, on key clinical points (QAQI), crew performance, and narcotics.
● Performs personnel functions including on-boarding new-hires through a comprehensive orientation program and thorough
evaluation process, base schedule planning, schedule administration in UKG (HRIS) and time-off and shift swap requests in
UKG. Ultimately, effective planning and efficient and effective scheduling that reduces unscheduled over-time. Covering the
base and maintaining the ultimate responsibility for keeping base in service when/if the base is unstaffed due to a scheduling
issue or call-out. Bases are expected to be in service 24/7/365.
● Ensures the maintenance and cleanliness of all facilities, vehicles and equipment assigned to the Clinical Air Division.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for preparing and submitting monthly logs and billing reports each week, maintains PCR
policies/procedures for proper billing and revenue cycle; PCRs are in compliance.
● Attends seminars, conferences, workshops, classes, lectures, etc. and reviews professional literature as appropriate to
enhance and maintain knowledge of trends and developments within the industry.
● Oversees, guides, and mentors flight crew members in the performance of their duties. Leads and coaches flight crew
members, when necessary, see something say something in a professional and respectful manner. Document all coaching
conversations that may lead to a series of counseling/corrective action process per the company handbook.
● Supports and promotes Pafford Air One culture, teamwork, accountability, and consistency throughout operation. Leads and
demonstrates the PAO/PEMS company vision, mission, values, and promise.
● Recommends budgetary needs for the operation, ways to reduce cost, and provides justification/documentation for the
budgetary spending. Adheres to budget allocations, guidelines, and process/procedures driven by the finance department.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for and acts as front-line point of contact during public relations and marketing events and
standard operations. Builds rapport and relationships with ambulance service leaders and facility staff within the communities
we serve and helps to resolve conflict if any complaints are received.
● Acts as PAO liaison in community and governmental affairs within the assigned region. (City Council, Chamber of Commerce,
Hospital Boards, and Public Safety Agencies). Builds relationships with facilities and municipalities in assigned territory.
● Stays active and engaged in local educational planning opportunities including affiliations with local community colleges, EMS
education programs, and first responder agencies; attending and/or teaching educational classes and workshops.
● Participates in investigations of unusual occurrences as necessary and reports findings to HR or the appropriate department.
● Recommends disciplinary action as needed in compliance with defined policies, procedures, and directives.
● Maintains strict compliance with all Pafford Policies & Procedures.
Key Performance Indicators:
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for base team performance; chute times, base cleanliness, customer/patient complaints,
disciplinary action, attendance, back in service times, customer service, base visits.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for base visit guide results.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for new hire training/development and evaluations.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for Narcotics policy/procedures and compliance.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for Supply order management.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for efficient and effective scheduling, keeping unscheduled OT to a bare minimum.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for base marketing/request goals.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for PCR compliance and billing issues/requests.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for Safety compliance.
● Maintains ultimate responsibility for all PAO KPI goals.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
● Must have acquired two professional certifications (CFRN, CCRN, FP-C, CCP-C, etc.)
● Must have a minimum 3 years of experience in flight medicine, preferably at Pafford Air One, an exception may be made with
COO and CEO approval.
● Must hold, or be able to obtain, current instructor certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
● Must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of meeting or exceeding operational goals and objectives and must be
consistent in PCR compliance – a culture, compliance, and accountability leader.
● Must maintain an “Exceeds Expectation” on all Quarterly Competencies.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
● Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook), UKG (HRIS) and concur etc.
● Proficiency with ZOLL, Flight Vector, Image Trend, RescueNet, Fleetio, AceTech, UKG, and related programs and applications
used by PAO/PEMS
● Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
● Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed
routines, and standard accepted practices, self-management.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
● Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
● Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
