As a Job Coach, you will support individuals in securing and maintaining meaningful employment. You'll provide job development services, assist with goal-setting, and help refine job-seeking skills. You'll also build relationships with businesses to create employment opportunities and advocate for workplace accommodations when needed.
This role requires reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the community for up to 75% of your time. Requires driving of personal vehicle, along with clean driving record and proof of valid driver's license and insurance.
Hourly Rate: $19.00
Full-Time (40 hours/week): 7:30-3:30 Mon-Fri. All Full-Time benefits, including: 14 days PTO, 11 paid holidays, health/dental/life insurance, HSA, retirement savings account, mileage reimbursement and a predictable Day Schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- When needed, assist the Employment Specialists by working one-on-one with individuals to develop job-seeking skills, including resume writing, cover letters, and interview preparation. Provide on-the-job coaching and ongoing support to ensure success in new roles.
- Advocate for necessary workplace accommodations.
- Manage a caseload and maintain detailed records of services and billing.
- Utilize a person-centered approach to support individuals effectively.
- Communicate regularly with the PAI staff about the person you're serving regarding their progress towards or performance at their community job as they work with the person also and will appreciate regular updates.
General
- Demonstrate professional behavior and demeanor while adhering to all PAI values, policies and procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Follow the designated work schedule and report to work on time.
- Accurately complete all assigned paperwork within the designated time frame.
- Meet requirements/conditions to drive a company or personal vehicle as assigned.
- Work as a team member to ensure all individual responsibilities and building responsibilities are completed as needed.
- Demonstrate flexibility and anticipate and respond effectively to change.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor under stress.
- Document in-service training and submit when requested.
- Follow data privacy laws and procedures.
Qualifications and Conditions of Employment Required:
- Experience in job placement, career coaching, or supported employment is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to track data and schedules.
- Pass DHS background study and maintain clearance to provide direct contact services without continuous supervision.
- High school degree or G.E.D. and be 18 years of age or older.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills as well as proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Able and willing to travel between multiple business locations throughout the workday.
- Hours of work are typically daytime, Monday through Friday. Evenings and weekend work is rare unless a person you're serving gets an evening or weekend job and requires support.
- Requirements to drive a personal vehicle: reliable transportation for work driving purposes, valid driver's license, and proof of valid car insurance.
- Requirements to drive a PAI vehicle: willing to drive, demonstrate driving proficiency for assigned vehicle, valid driver's license, meet insurance criteria for driving history, permit driving record checks as needed, and 21 years of age.
