We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Vice President of Business Development to lead our growth efforts and secure new opportunities with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps and other Government entities. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and proposal writing expertise. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the business development strategy, building relationships with key government stakeholders, and overseeing the proposal development process to win contracts in a highly competitive environment.
Compensation:$150,000 yearly
Responsibilities:•Strategic Growth Leadership:
oDevelop and execute the company’s business development strategy focused on Navy and Marine Corps opportunities.
oIdentify new markets, customers, and strategic partnerships to drive revenue growth.
oLead capture efforts for large and complex federal contracts, including identifying key opportunities early in the procurement cycle.
•Proposal Management & Development:
oManage the full lifecycle of proposal writing, including drafting, reviewing, editing, and ensuring compliance with government requirements (RFPs/RFIs).
oLead proposal teams, delegating responsibilities across technical, pricing, and administrative sections to produce high-quality submissions.
oCollaborate with SMEs and technical teams to develop compelling, competitive proposals that meet customer needs and highlight corporate capabilities.
oEnsure deadlines are met, with a focus on accuracy, responsiveness, and alignment with customer requirements.
•Relationship Building & Networking:
oEstablish and maintain relationships with key Navy and Marine Corps personnel, industry partners, and contracting officers.
oRepresent the company at industry events, trade shows, and business forums relevant to Navy and Marine Corps contracting.
oFoster partnerships with subcontractors, vendors, and other teaming partners.
•Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
oConduct market analysis to identify upcoming Navy/Marine Corps contracting opportunities and trends.
oTrack and monitor competitor activities and positioning, adjusting strategies accordingly.
•Leadership & Team Management:
oLead, mentor, and develop a business development team to ensure continuous improvement and innovation in proposal efforts.
oCollaborate with the executive team to align business development efforts with corporate goals.
Qualifications:- 10 years of experience in federal contracting, with a strong emphasis on Navy and Marine Corps programs.
- Proven expertise in proposal writing and management with a track record of winning competitive contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and regulations, including FAR/DFARS.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and mentoring staff.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with government clients, contractors, and partners.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Proficiency with business development tools such as GovWin, SAM.gov, and other market research platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
