Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. The Medical Scribe will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters, ensuring that medical records are complete and up-to-date. This position is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, as it provides valuable experience in a clinical setting.
Monday-Thursday will be a remote setting for the employee
Friday's will be in office role.
Duties
- Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, and treatment plans during patient visits.
- Update patient chart information: intake (vitals, height, weights, pain score, HPI), medical history, surgical history and pain procedure history, assessments, and plan notes
- Responsible for collecting a urinalysis/ Oral Swab
- Responsible for making sure clinic rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with appropriate supplies and paperwork
- Importing medical records
- Referralls
- Medication Prior-Auths
- Ensure that all documentation complies with legal and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with medical staff to maintain organized and efficient patient records.
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and coordinating follow-up care.
- Familiarize yourself with medical terminology and procedures relevant to the specialty area (e.g., dermatology, internal medicine).
- Support patient care initiatives by providing excellent patient service and communication.
Skills
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology to facilitate accurate documentation.
- Experience in medical administrative support, enhancing workflow efficiency.
- Strong background in patient care practices, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Knowledge of dermatology and internal medicine is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Level II Trauma Center operations is a plus.
- Understanding of outpatient care processes to assist in effective patient management.
- Basic knowledge of physiology to comprehend clinical discussions and documentation needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
