Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, PSY.D)
Are you a skilled and empathetic therapist ready to make a profound impact on the lives of individuals battling chronic pain? We're seeking a dedicated therapist to join our dynamic team at Pain Trauma Institute. We primarily specialize in chronic illness and chronic pain, and we are one of only a few clinics of our kind.
We are looking for therapists who are trained in trauma-Informed psychotherapy, either with experience with patients with chronic illness and/or chronic pain, or willingness to learn. We currently have the only ocean-therapy specifically for chronic pain and autoimmune illnesses in the nation, and have presented our research at various professional conferences.
We are looking for therapists with experience in art, play, mindfulness and somatic trauma-informed modalities, with the opportunity to be a part of our innovative eco-therapy programs, as well as participate in our partnership with Rady’s Pediatric Chronic Pain Department.
Currently we are hiring for part-time (15client sessions per week), with the goal of a full-time position. We have both weekday and weekend availability. Our practice sees both private pay and managed care (health insurance) clients.
Preferred Clinical Specialties: Chronic Pain/Illness, Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Modalities (one or more: EMDR, Biofeedback, Mindfulness, DBT, CPT, HRV, ACT, Sensorimotor, or other). Applicants with other areas of expertise will also be considered.

At Pain Trauma Institute, you'll be part of a community-driven clinic that's transforming lives. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in helping patients regain control of their lives despite chronic pain challenges. You will have significant growth opportunities as we expand. We are engaged in ongoing research, with opportunities for publication. We have a unique partnership with Groundswell Community Project to provide surf therapy for patients with chronic pain and/or autoimmune illnesses.
Our collaborative environment is unique, incorporating mainstream medical system health support as well as trauma-informed therapy and other somatic modalities. We are trying to remove the barrier to therapy for patients trying to navigate the medical system with complex illnesses, by building up our team and partnerships. We value professional growth; you will have access to in-house trainings and some financial assistance with trainings. We provide clinical supervision as we are committed to providing you with the support and resources you need to thrive in your role. Your contributions will make a difference.
