What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at PainPoint Health?
Summary:
Provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, professional standards of care, state regulations and accreditation standards and the facility’s policies and procedures.
Schedule: Mon - Thur: 8am - 5pm, Friday: 8am - 12pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.
Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
Provides routine care for patients.
Observes patients’ health.
Reviews medical charts.
Accompanies patients to their rooms.
Assists physicians and registered nurses in patient care.
Communicates with patients and their families.
Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, and others as directed.
Completes annual mandatory training by the due date as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certification required.
Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
Current BLS for Healthcare Provider.
- At least one year of experience in a health care setting.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
General knowledge of medical terminology.
Advanced understanding of critical nursing skills.
Demonstrated patient care skills
Required to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods.
Must be able to communicate with or without reasonable accommodations – speak and hear.
Able to use both hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to push up to 300lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
