Job Title: Collections Coordinator (Fund Office)
Job Summary: The Collections Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the collection of weekly/monthly benefits, dues, and other related fees from union employers. The role involves tracking payments, working with employers to resolve payment issues, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with the union’s collective bargaining agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
Collections:
- Ensure all payments are processed accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate records of payments and outstanding balances.
Employer Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact for union employers regarding payment of benefits, dues, and any related payment issues.
- Send reminders, notices, and follow-ups for overdue payments.
- Address inquiries, disputes, or concerns from employers about billing or payment issues.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with union bylaws, contracts, and applicable labor laws.
- Prepare and submit regular collection reports.
- Monitor employer accounts for discrepancies or payment delinquencies.
Payment Processing:
- Work with the accounting department to reconcile payments and resolve discrepancies.
Coordination with Union Officials:
- Collaborate with union leadership to update them on financial status and challenges.
- Advise leadership on potential issues with collections.
Documentation & Record-Keeping:
- Maintain secure and organized filing systems, both digital and physical.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc., knowledge of ISSI is a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with union members, employers, and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with labor agreements and collective bargaining processes.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position.
- Office-based (this is NOT a remote position).
Compensation:
- Salary range $50,000-$60,000 based on experience.
- Benefits package includes employer paid health insurance, pension and annuity, and paid time off.
