CATERING SALES MANAGER
POSITION PROFILE
The Catering Sales Manager will be pivotal in driving revenue, negotiating and contracting meetings, photoshoots and events at the Southern California hotel locations. The Catering Sales Manager will maintain appropriate balance of account maintenance, prospecting for new business, and build profitable relationships with clients while ensuring the seamless interaction between the client and F&B operations at each hotel.
The Catering Sales Manager will also be responsible for predicting sales forecasts while spending primary time on direct selling, as well as being a liaison between the restaurant and the hotel, and between the client and F&B operations. Responsibilities will also include staying current on industry trends and seeking creative ways to infiltrate markets and accounts. This position reports to the Managing Director of Sales.

THE TASK AT HAND:
Catering Sales & Business Outreach:
- Responsible for selling of catering and event spaces
- Manage and respond to incoming
- inquiries with Events Deck within 24 hours
- Develop appointment-oriented
- sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established by departmental
- budget
- Focus on growing/selling all
- segments by soliciting new and existing
- accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue event goals and maximize profitability
- for the hotel
- Establish target lists and attain and exceed
- quarterly event revenue goals
- Responds to sales inquiries, initiates new sales, prospects and qualifies
- leads and solicits potential clients,
- conducts site visits and answers questions, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, services accounts and analyzes lost
- business for the hotel
- Manage the identification, sales efforts, and relationships with
- all clients
- Assist in the integration of individual property efforts into the
- overall Palisociety strategy
- Maintain appropriate balance of account maintenance, prospecting for new business, and build profitable relationships

- space, capacities, concept, and food style (menus)
- Be familiar with the hotel's competitive
- set and shared accounts
- Understand the overall market -
- competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc.

- Actively seek out critical
- information on market trends, segment behavior, and other data to make informed
- decisions and remain ahead of the pack
- Review and update menus, packages, and
- upgrades as requested to satisfy client needs and to maximize revenue
- Optimally cross-sell with sister restaurants and hotels for referral business
- Maintains accurate and detailed notes and traces for accounts within the PMS (Tripleseat)
- Join and attend appropriate market organizations
- Expertise of the restaurant's overall layout, rate structure, and capacities
- Write Proposals for events with
- minimum prices using discretion based on seasonality and current restaurant business.
- Responsible for updating Events
- Decks for all LA area venues with F&B Corporate Team
- This position must be proactive in obtaining/selling events
- Coordinate and conduct property site tours with potential event clients
- Log all incoming leads by venue and maintain SoCal Events pipeline in Tripleseat
- Maintain Events Calendar for
- the SoCal Region in Tripleseat
- Coordinate directly with the accounting department
- to process Event deposits
- Log all deposits & PM accounts
- Eligible to earn 2% of
- contracted and consumed revenue paid monthly (complete details will be provided
- upon hiring in a separate document. Incentive plans are subject to change and
- amendment per company policy)
Coordination with F&B Operations:
- Connect F&B Team with clients so F&B team can successfully execute
- and manage event
- Ensure F&B team has all necessary event details in place in order to execute according to BEO and/or contract
- Pull sales from Toast for F&B Minimums and make judgment calls to balance
- event revenue with normal business revenue
- Connect F&B Managers with clients to execute &
- recap set-up after signing of BEO and/or event contract
- Attend internal meetings such as Group Resume Meetings
- Work closely with F&B
- Managers, General Managers, and Directors of Restaurants to ensure proper billing for each event
- Run BEO meetings with hotel F&B team and Operations team
- Confirm menu and guest count with clients 10 days prior to the event
- Close spaces in OT upon confirmation of events and manage the flow of
- bookings in available time frames
Reporting & Budgeting:
- Produce marketing plan and assist in developing the annual sales budget with the F&B and Corporate team
- Implement a monthly action plan
- in order to meet and exceed the budgeted sales goals
- Complete weekly, monthly,
- quarterly, and annual production reports; as well as weekly and monthly sales activity reports
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Familiarity with MS Office, Google Apps, and other organizational computer tools.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal preferred.
- Provide legible communication and directions.
- Compute basic arithmetic.
- Perform job junctions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
- Be a clear thinker, act independently, remain calm and resolving problems using good judgement
- Must report daily to corporate
- Offices located at the Palihouse West Hollywood unless site inspections and client tours are required at another location.
