What are the responsibilities and job description for the MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR IV (Multiple Opportunities) position at Palm Beach County?
Operates a specialized vehicle and equipment capable of culvert inspections with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV). Performs specialized work in the operation and maintenance of a hydraulic sewer cleaner and combination vacuum truck. Operates street sweeping equipment. May be temporarily assigned duties in another Division/Section during slack periods and/or perform additional related work as required. Participates in laboring activities during equipment downtime. Performs daily maintenance of equipment.
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in operating heavy-duty equipment and a high degree of skill in working to engineering grades.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Operating CCTV equipment, street sweeper, vactor trucks; with storm water maintenance. Also desirable: Current National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) Certification; valid FL Class A/B CDL; graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification.
SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Must obtain a FL Class A/B CDL Permit with Air Brakes and/or Tanker Endorsement within 90 days of hire and obtain a FL Class A/B CDL within 180 days appointment. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
