What are the responsibilities and job description for the MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II (Multiple Positions) position at Palm Beach County?
Operates moderately complex, large vehicles and less complex, public works construction and maintenance equipment. Mows the County right-of-ways with mowing tractors and cuts back vegetation with clippers/chainsaws. Drives and operates a dump truck; flags traffic; patches roads; inspects/maintains equipment for proper and safe operation. Performs other manual duties as needed; may be temporarily assigned to another district/section.
Qualifications
Minimum of six (6) months of experience in the operation of large mobile or construction equipment.
PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE: Operating mowing/box blade tractors, front end loaders or tandem axle dump trucks; performing asphalt/concrete maintenance/road construction. Also desirable: Valid FL Class A/B CDL; graduation from high school or equivalent recognized certification (must specify on application).
NOTE: It is not necessary to submit another application for this position if you applied 9/24/24 - 1/10/25.
SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Must obtain a FL Class B CDL Permit with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsements within 90 days of hire and obtain a FL Class B CDL within 180 days of appointment. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
