Overview:
We are seeking a responsible, energetic, and basketball-savvy individual to join our team as a Front Desk/Basketball Trainer. This dual-role position involves running front desk operations, maintaining a clean and welcoming facility, and working directly with children to teach fundamental basketball skills in a positive and encouraging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Duties:
- Greet and check in athletes, parents, and visitors
- Manage daily schedule and answer phone calls, emails, and messages
- Handle sign-ups, payments, and waivers
- Ensure the lobby is clean, organized, and professional at all times
Basketball Training Duties:
- Lead small group sessions and clinics for kids (typically ages 6–14) focused on basketball basics—dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, and teamwork
- Create a positive and encouraging environment for all skill levels
- Monitor safety and maintain discipline in training sessions
- Assist with setting up drills and equipment before and after sessions
Facility Maintenance Duties:
- Keep gym floor clear and safe for use
- Regularly clean and sanitize bathrooms, lobby, and common areas
- Monitor supplies and notify management when restocking is needed
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in sports or recreation settings
- Basic knowledge of basketball techniques and terminology
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Must be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain) is a plus
- Must pass background check
Schedule:
Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends depending on gym programming and events.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
