Director of Nursing

Job Summary
The Director of Nursing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the highest standards of patient care in our assisted living facility. This position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively manage nursing operations, implement policies, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. The Director of Nursing will collaborate with other departments to enhance patient outcomes and foster a supportive environment for both staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage nursing staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and skill mix for optimal patient care.
• Oversee nursing administration, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures that meet regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare regulations and other relevant healthcare laws.
• Lead shift management activities, coordinating schedules to meet the needs of residents while maintaining staff well-being.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with staff, residents, and healthcare providers.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.
• Monitor patient care practices to ensure adherence to established protocols and quality standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for residents.

Requirements

• Current nursing license in good standing.
• Proven experience in nurse management or a similar leadership role within an assisted living or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and nursing systems.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
• Experience in nursing administration, including familiarity with regulatory compliance related to Medicare.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff, residents, and families.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
