Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct Needs/Gap Analysis: Conduct interviews, assessments, and analysis within departments to define and document learning objectives. Recommend appropriate training methods and solutions based on identified needs.
- Collaborate with Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs): Work closely with department SMEs to gather content expertise, define timeframes, allocate resources, and determine necessary support to ensure the success of training programs.
- Create Engaging Instructional Content: Partner with SMEs to convert or create instructional materials that are interactive, engaging, and aligned with adult learning principles, ensuring they are impactful for all learning styles.
- Leverage eLearning Content: Use authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Camtasia, etc.) to design and develop interactive eLearning modules, ensuring content is engaging, educational, and accessible.
- Develop Comprehensive Training Materials: Design a wide range of training resources including e-learning modules, courses, curricula, training manuals, job aids, and videos to meet business needs.
- Compliance Training and Development: Design and develop engaging compliance training programs, such as NYS Prevention of Harassment, Cybersecurity, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) safety, ensuring content aligns with current regulation requirements and company policies.
- Manage Project Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Director of Organizational Development, department heads, and other stakeholders, to ensure training projects are progressing on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.
- Conduct Audience Research: Perform research to fully understand the learners' needs, backgrounds, and preferences, tailoring content to maximize engagement and effectiveness.
- Adapt Content for Different Learners: Customize instructional materials and delivery methods to accommodate various learning levels and types, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
- Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Analyze performance data and learner feedback to assess the effectiveness of instructional systems, courses, and materials. Work closely with trainers and instructors to continuously iterate content and improve outcomes.
- Apply Agile Development Strategies: Use agile methodologies to redesign and update content based on continuous learner feedback, ensuring the content remains relevant and effective in meeting departmental and business needs.
- LMS Management and Administration: Oversee the administration and configuration of Palmer University, our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring smooth functionality, proper course tracking, and user management.
- Facilitate Instructor-Led Training (ILT): Deliver training sessions and workshops both in-person and via live virtual platforms (e.g. MS Teams), ensuring high engagement and positive learning experience.
- Support and Troubleshoot LMS and Learning Tools: Provide ongoing technical support to both learners and instructors, troubleshooting issues related to the LMS and other learning technologies.
- Stay Current with Industry Trends: Continuously monitor developments in instructional design, technology, and adult learning to keep training methods and content relevant and effective.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field, required.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in designing and developing learning experiences, with roles such as Instructional Designer, Learning Experience Designer, Learning Architect, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and expertise in applying them to dynamic business environments.
- Proficiency in eLearning and multimedia authoring tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), Camtasia, Captivate, InDesign, and similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS or LMX), with expertise in designing content to meet industry standards such as SCORM, AICC, xAPI, etc. Experience with AbsorbLMS is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams for effective communication and collaboration. Experience with PowerBI is a plus.
Salary:
- $60,500- $75,000/ a year
