Position Overview:
As the Senior Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with the company’s strategic goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will provide financial leadership, optimize financial performance, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support long-term business growth and profitability.
- Provide strategic insights and financial guidance to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to measure business performance and efficiency.
- Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and capital structure planning to ensure financial stability and scalability.
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Lead financial reporting processes, including board presentations, executive summaries, and investor communications.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with tax laws and financial reporting requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate successful audits and financial reviews.
Operational Oversight:
- Manage treasury functions, cash flow, and investment strategies to optimize liquidity and working capital.
- Implement best practices and modern financial systems to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.
- Utilize cost accounting expertise to analyze manufacturing cost structures and improve profit margins.
- Partner with department heads to establish financial controls and reporting frameworks that drive accountability.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks while ensuring strong internal controls and corporate governance.
- Oversee audit processes and promptly address findings to maintain financial integrity.
- Stay ahead of evolving financial regulations and industry trends to proactively adjust company strategies.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a collaborative culture that promotes continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
- Serve as a financial resource across departments, facilitating clear communication and strategic alignment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA and/or CPA designation is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 10 years of progressive financial leadership, including at least 5 years in a senior management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, financial compliance, and cost accounting principles.
- ERP Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systems.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to influence stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and drive financial excellence.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated success in optimizing financial processes, implementing systems, and enhancing operational efficiencies.
