Palmer Hamilton, LLC, a leading provider of innovative furniture and space solutions, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Elkhorn, WI.

About the Role:

As a Maintenance Technician at Palmer Hamilton, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our facility and equipment. You’ll take on a variety of maintenance tasks, from routine inspections and repairs to troubleshooting complex issues across a wide range of vehicles, machinery, and facility systems. This position offers an opportunity to showcase your expertise in industrial, mechanical, electrical, and moving vehicle maintenance, while working with minimal supervision in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance on company vehicles, including forklifts, man lifts, and trucks. Keep our fleet and associated equipment in top condition.
  • Plant Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair a variety of plant equipment, including CNC machine tools, manual machine tools, automated inventory systems, and more. Your work ensures our production continues without interruption.
  • Facility Maintenance: Take charge of maintaining the facility’s buildings and grounds, including HVAC systems, sprinkler systems, plumbing, lighting, and more. Your efforts will keep our workplace safe, functional, and welcoming.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Use your expertise to diagnose, rebuild, and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment. Your problem-solving skills will be key in minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
  • Parts Management: Keep accurate records of parts and materials used, and proactively order new supplies as needed to ensure we’re always ready to tackle the next challenge.
  • Support and Collaboration: Assist in moving and organizing production and office areas, and work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager, and project leads on various initiatives.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all workplace safety rules and standard operating procedures. You’ll be a role model in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Other Duties: Be ready to step in wherever needed to support the team and contribute to the overall success of Palmer Hamilton.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or vehicle maintenance is required. Alternatively, candidates with relevant degrees or certifications in industrial maintenance are welcome.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating forklifts, overhead cranes, man lifts, and power tools is essential. You should have an intermediate ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment, including CNC machinery.
  • Electrical Expertise: Strong understanding of electrical schematics and diagrams, along with basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC). Electrician skills are a plus, including correct wiring practices and the replacement of electrical components.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to perform and communicate effectively about electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic principles used in maintenance work. Proficiency with diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, and AC drives is required.
  • Education: A two-year degree or certificate in industrial maintenance, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.
  • Licensing: A valid driver’s license with no serious traffic violations in the past three years is required.
